How to Look Skinnier in Pictures

Not always do we look our best in the picture. It can cause unconfident about your appearance and kill any wish to take photos. Fortunately, there are certain tricks you can do to get well in the pictures. Read more about it in this article.

1. Move your chin slightly forward.

This trick will help you avoid a double chin and make your jaw look more defined. At the same time, it’s advisable to use your tongue to touch the roof of your mouth as this will allow you to tighten the muscles in your face. In the end, this will make your face look slimmer in pictures.

2. Move your shoulders back.

Watching the posture of your shoulders will help you look taller and slimmer.

3. Keep your arms away from your body.

Avoid placing your arms straight next to your body as this will make you look wider. Instead, place your hands onto the front side of your hips and bend your elbows. Remember to move your shoulders and elbows slightly backward to ensure a thinner appearance.

💡Enhance this pose by moving your body slightly to one side in order to make your hips look leaner.

4. Pose at an angle.

Stand at a 45º angle by moving one leg forward so that it’s placed in front of the other. This will make your legs look much longer in photos.

If possible, ask the photographer to take your picture from above to make you look up. This will prevent a double chin and make your body appear thinner.

8. Cross your legs at the ankles when sitting.

If you’re sitting, avoid crossing your legs at your knees and do it at your ankles instead. This will make your body appear longer and draw attention up to your face. Moreover, this trick will allow your calves and thighs to look leaner.

9. Lean your hips back.

This will create a gap between your legs, making you look thinner in pictures.

10. Use your purse to hide your midsection.

Hold your bag right in front of your abdomen if you’re wearing an unflattering top that makes your belly stand out.

Bonus: Place your cell phone up for full body photos when taking selfies.

If you want your selfie to be a full body shot, it will look better if your cell phone is located at the top of the picture. This way, you will look thinner and with a more stylized silhouette.
