14 Life Situations in Which We Do not Need to Make Excuses for Our Choices

“Do you think it’s crazy to have a baby at 40?” “You’re 35, and you still haven’t acquired your own place?” “What are you so exhausted from? You’re not working in a coal mine!” — These and similar remarks have been directed at many individuals, causing them emotional distress. Regrettably, some individuals fail to remember that everyone possesses the autonomy to determine their lifestyle, identity, and pursuits. Consequently, no one is obligated to provide explanations for these personal choices.

Each person has a different concept of happiness. And these concepts should not be compared.

A woman can have any role. The important thing is that she likes it.

Everyone has their own ideas of beauty and femininity. And other people’s opinions should be respected.

Comparing priorities or achievements is not a good idea. Everyone has their own path and pace in life.

A woman has the right to decide when to have a child and should not have to justify her choice, not even to doctors.

Women come in different shapes and sizes, and they are all beautiful. No one can judge them for how they look.

People have different tastes and preferences when it comes to food, and that’s okay. There is no need to criticize what someone else chooses to eat.

Parents deserve to have some rest and relaxation. And some people should mind their own business and not interfere with other people’s parenting styles.

Different families have different ways of managing their finances. Some people prefer to pay only for their own expenses, while others are happy to cover the costs for a large group.

The way a mother conceives a child does not affect her “value”. Her work is priceless in any case.

It is normal to have limitations or fears. What is worse is to blame others for them.

Mental work can be exhausting, too, and one shouldn’t underestimate it compared to physical labour.

There is no need to worry about the child’s development pace if the doctors say everything is normal. Every child is unique and grows at their own rate.

It seems like banning people from asking questions about other people’s personal lives should be legislated. Do you agree?

Our world is constantly changing, and so are the rules of the game in it. And what used to be considered something extraordinary is now perceived as the norm. And that’s fine because everyone has the right to live the way they want to live.
