For a wedding to be perfect, it is important to have the right outfit; that is why brides always pay special attention to the dress they will wear during the big day. Sometimes, their mother’s or grandmother’s dress or simply one they found in a store are the ideal ones, they just make some modifications and that’s it! There are women who end up with their dream wardrobe thanks to their talent.

At Now I’ve Seen Everything we love makeovers, so we gathered images of brides who went all out and made their own outfits. In the end, a bonus that proves you can sew a bridal gown from any old rag.

1. “Made a huge change to my dress and got rid of the sleeves... thoughts?!”

7. “My grandma’s wedding dress. Currently being cleaned so it should be a lot whiter when it’s done. I was thinking sleeveless and some rhinestone detail”

I knew she was talented before, but this absolutely blew me away!! Figured this would fit well here!!”

12. “I added sleeves for this gorgeous bride to her strapless wedding gown.”

13. “Just got married in mom’s dress- $200 from Macy’s- thirty years and two weddings! I only changed the sleeves and reinforced the zipper/side seams.”

14. “My grandmother on her wedding day, on my wedding day, wearing the same dress.”
