Emily Blunt Sounds the Alarm — AI Is Changing Hollywood Fast

Fears of AI taking over have hit Hollywood, and this time, the spotlight is on a rising star... that isn’t even human. Tilly Norwood, a brand-new AI actress, has ignited a heated debate: could artificial performers really replace human actors on the big screen?

“That’s an AI? Good Lord, we’re screwed.”

Among the Hollywood A-listers outraged by Tilly Norwood’s creation is award-winning actress Emily Blunt. Her comments being, “That is really, really scary. Come on, agencies, don’t do that. Please stop. Please stop taking away our human connection.”

Despite all the fuss Tilly has garnered, she hasn’t gained any movie roles.

On the US talk show The View, comedian and actress Whoopi Goldberg stunned viewers with her take on AI actors. She believes audiences can instantly tell the difference between real humans and synthetic performers. When asked if AI creations might steal jobs from actors, Goldberg was skeptical, pointing out the small but crucial details that technology just can’t replicate: “they move differently, our faces move differently, our bodies move differently.” According to her, it’s these subtle human quirks — the way we gesture, emote, and carry ourselves — that make actors irreplaceable, no matter how advanced AI becomes.

Creators think Tilly will go big.

Tilly’s appearance sparks a warmth and familiarity we see in lots of Hollywood starlets, thanks to her warm, brown wavy hair and almond eyes.

Her creator, Eline Van der Velden, CEO of Particle6, who was a former actress, has spoken about Tilly’s promising future, saying, “When we first launched Tilly, people were like, ‘What’s that?’, and now we’re going to be announcing which agency is going to be representing her in the next few months.”

Tilly’s not meant to replace actual actors.

Finding herself in hot water, Tilly’s creator posted a statement assuring the angry crowd that the AI actress isn’t meant to replace human actors. She stated, “She (Tilly) is not a replacement for a human being, but a creative work — a piece of art.”

But while AI sparks fears about replacing living actors, it’s proving incredibly valuable in another way — helping us see the faces of people who lived centuries ago.
