A 63-year-old Hollywood icon, who was married to Nicole from 1990 to 2001, has reportedly shared that Nicole’s split from Keith is nothing more than “karma” for the way she treated him after their own breakup, when he received far less public sympathy than she did.

A source explained: “When Tom and Nicole split, he caught all the blame and she got all the sympathy. He was painted as the bad guy ... that stuck with him for years.”

The insider added that the actor was deeply hurt by how the situation unfolded at the time: “Tom was really stung by the way Nicole handled their break-up. She went on TV, made digs about his height, and painted herself as the victim, while he stayed silent and took the hits.”

Sources say the Mission: Impossible star reportedly felt a certain sense of vindication after hearing about Nicole’s latest split. According to the insider, Tom had long believed that her picture-perfect marriage with Keith was “too good to be true,” and now he supposedly sees his instincts confirmed.
