Jennifer Jensen from Texas never imagined her 30th birthday trip to New Zealand would spark an internet sensation. After her raincoat failed in the middle of a downpour, she filmed a lighthearted complaint — and the video exploded online. The unexpected twist? A major clothing brand saw it... and their response left everyone stunned.

“I bought this ‘rain jacket’ just a couple days ago,” she began in her video, explaining that she had chosen it specifically for its advertised waterproof qualities. “I’m 100% sure it’s raining outside — and I’m soaking wet.”

Taking a moment to show off the breathtaking landscape of New Zealand behind her, she clarified that she wasn’t looking for a refund. Instead, she made a playful yet pointed request: “Redesign this jacket and make it waterproof and express deliver it up to the top of Hooker Valley Lake in New Zealand where I will be waiting.”

The complaint video quickly went viral, amassing over 14.8 million views and countless comments. Viewers were quick to note the noticeable silence from the well-known clothing brand. But that silence didn’t last long — it was shattered by an epic marketing response that took everyone by surprise.

In response, the brand posted a video on their TikTok page featuring a staff member — secretly skier Jossi Wells in disguise — picking up a red jacket from a local store in New Zealand. The clip then followed the employee as they boarded a helicopter to personally deliver the new jacket to Jensen at the top of a mountain.

The caption read, “We were busy express delivering Jenn her jacket at the top of the mountain. Thanks for the help, Jossi!” The video quickly racked up over 4 million views and thousands of comments. Among them was a thrilled reply from Jensen herself: “You guys definitely came through for me. We’ll give the new jacket a shot on my next rainy day hike,” she wrote.

Jennifer admitted she still isn’t sure why the original jacket failed and wondered if it was simply a “one-time product malfunction.” She explained, “I made that short video thinking only my best friend would see it because I didn’t have a lot of followers at the time. I never imagined it would go viral, and I didn’t post it expecting it would get any traction.”

“I’m not an influencer and never set out to be one. I was just trying to make an unfortunate situation funny and lighthearted,” she added. “I’m glad the company reached out to make amends for the customer experience let-down. It was a very fun and unexpected adventure.”

Later, Jennifer reported that she had already taken the new jacket out on a rainy hike — and it kept her dry for 8 miles.

Such a response from the brand impressed people, who began leaving numerous comments under the video. One person wrote, “A brand that understood the assignment.” Another added, “Give your marketing / social media team a raise because *this* is how ya do it. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻” The third one noted, “They saw an opportunity and absolutely smashed it 👏🏼!!!”
