Anya Taylor-Joy Got Married for the Second Time and Her Wedding Look is Truly Astonishing

Anya Taylor-Joy, celebrated for her performance in The Queen’s Gambit, tied the knot with musician Malcolm McRae in a lavish Venice wedding on October 2. This joyous occasion came a year after their engagement was first reported.

This was their second wedding.

Anya Taylor-Joy and Malcolm McRae gathered a constellation of stars as witnesses for their second wedding ceremony in Italy. The 27-year-old actress and the 29-year-old musician initially had a low-key courthouse wedding last summer. Nevertheless, this time, they chose to mark their union in the presence of over 150 cherished friends and family members.

Anya graced the occasion in an unconventional beige princess-style gown, richly adorned with intricate embroidery and embellishments, which depicted images of birds and flowers on the bodice. To complete her look, she wore a bright white veil.

The couple kept their relationship private for a long time.

They have largely maintained a private romance and have opted not to publicly address their relationship. Nevertheless, in March 2022, Taylor-Joy opened up about McRae during an interview. She elaborated that their bond is rooted in their similar personalities and common interests.

“I’ve finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading,” she stated. “We’re basically 80 years old and seven at the same time, and it works really well.”

Before she met her husband, Anya experienced a difficult breakup.

In the past year, Taylor-Joy disclosed that she had gone through a “devastating breakup”. She acknowledged that this breakup had a negative impact on her, describing it as something that made her feel “extremely insecure and deeply uncomfortable in my own skin.”

Fortunately, she soon crossed paths with her future husband for the first time at the premiere of “The Queen’s Gambit” in 2021. McRae, an actor in his own right and a member of a band, took to Instagram last year to announce that he had composed an original song for Taylor-Joy titled “Really Want to See You Again,” just two days after their initial meeting.

“I’ve gotta get this out,” McRae croons in the song. “I think we’re alike in ways that I can’t quite explain.”

Sadly, celebrity wedding news doesn’t always garner public celebration for the newlyweds. Another Hollywood star, Chris Evans, recently wed his beloved, but instead of congratulations, he faced criticism due to their 16-year age difference.
