Kelly Osbourne is opening up about the body shaming she’s faced over the years, surprising fans with her dramatic weight loss during a recent public appearance.

While participating in a panel at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 10, the reality star opened up about the intense scrutiny she’s faced over her appearance, revealing that her weight has drawn more criticism than anything else in her life.

“We live in a fat-phobic world,” Osbourne, 40, told the summit attendees. “I’ve been a complete mess, disrespectful to people, horrible — but I got more s*** for being fat than I did for anything else. It’s insane.”

“You’ll never read an article about me that hasn’t got a comment about my weight,” she continued, revealing how she had grown used to the constant backhanded remarks about her appearance during the time she was heavier.

“People [would] say, ‘You’re so pretty. Why don’t you just lose a little bit of weight, and then you’ll be the total package,’” she recalled.

Osbourne’s noticeably transformed appearance ignited a lively debate. “Blonde is still 1000 times better than purple!” one fan commented. Another asked, “What happened to her face?? OMG!”

However, the majority of remarks focused on Kelly’s uncanny resemblance to her legendary father, Ozzy Osbourne. “No doubt who is Kelly’s dad, spitting image of young Ozzie,” one person wrote. Others echoed the sentiment, saying, “She could do an Ozzy Osbourne tribute act now,” and “My lord. She’s morphing into Ozzy.”

The Osbourne family had their own reality show in 2002. Kelly was 17 at the time, and she has lived in the public eye ever since. She has acted in films like So Undercover and has appeared as a judge on Project Runway and Fashion Police.

She is also a fashion designer and launched her line, Stories By Kelly Osbourne, in 2014. She said, “I don’t think the fashion industry is fair. I’m not trying to be the next big thing in fashion, I’m trying to make fashion fair.”

In an interview, Kelly opened up about her struggles in life and not knowing if she would be a mom. She said, “I feel very behind. As a woman, I would have loved to be married and have children by now. My brother has 3 daughters and I would have loved to have kids by now, but that wasn’t what was in the cards for me yet.”

In 2022, Kelly revealed that she was expecting her first child. She wrote, “I know that I have been very quiet these past few months, so I thought I would share with you all as to why... I am over the moon to announce that I am going to be a Mumma. To say that I am happy does not quite cut it. I am ecstatic!”
