Kevin Sorbo, the 65-year-old Hollywood actor renowned for his performances in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, is openly expressing his concerns about modern masculinity. Sorbo asserts that his conservative viewpoints have led to him facing exclusion from the entertainment industry.

Sorbo gained fame for portraying Hercules and Captain Dylan Hunt in Andromeda. He has become known for his outspoken conservative views, which he claims have led to his being “canceled” in Hollywood.

In his essay, Sorbo criticizes the depiction of men in Hollywood, portraying them as either brutish he-men who misuse their strength or as bumbling figures. He argues that fathers, in particular, are unfairly ridiculed in “woke” Hollywood.

He also weighs in on men being seen wearing skirts and dresses on red carpets, sharing, “Society today seriously misunderstands masculinity... On the one hand, we love to normalize androgynous men who sport skirts and poofy dresses...”

“GQ’s 2019 best-dressed man, Timothée Chalamet, for example, often wears clothes that your grandfather wouldn’t have been caught dead dressed like Chalamet,” he continued.

Except Chalamet, Sorbo also singling out Billy Porter, 54. The celebrity, who proudly pointed out his rise to stardom as a Greek demigod, Kevin referred to the current trend of embracing androgyny in the fashion world as ’the masculinity crisis’.

It’s worth remembering, however, that men have been wearing dresses since the Roman Empire, and this fashion choice has been seen on runways for decades. Today, an increasing number of people embrace the idea that clothing is not restricted by gender.

Furthermore, openly expressing your emotions and embracing sensitivity does not diminish your masculinity. In fact, studies show that men who follow the traditional “macho” norms, which involve concealing their emotions, face a higher risk of experiencing depression and making risky choices.
