According to a study published in the American Journal of Psychology, left-handed individuals have a creative advantage. The research indicates that they excel in generating innovative solutions by thinking outside the box. Another study conducted by The Left-Handers’ Club, a pro-leftie organization, surveyed over 2,000 participants including left-handed, right-handed, and ambidextrous individuals. The findings revealed that lefties are more inclined towards careers in the arts, music, sports, and information technology fields.

Lefties have a leg up in sports.

In one-on-one sports like tennis, badminton, and boxing, left-handed individuals hold an advantageous position. According to linguist Rik Smits in his book The Puzzle of Left-Handedness, both left-handed and right-handed athletes typically train against right-handed opponents. Consequently, when right-handed players encounter a left-handed opponent, they may find themselves unprepared. Conversely, left-handed players are often prepared for right-handed opponents.

They make good fighters.

A study from 2019 found that in boxing, 17% of the male fighters and 12.5% of the female fighters are left-handed. That, compared to the 10% left-handed general population, is a big percentage. The study also found that these fighters had more than a 50% chance of winning their fights against right-handed people. This means that those who fight with their left hand are more successful in fighting sports.
