“Send Me the Script:” Oppenheimer-Star Cillian Murphy Wants to Play a Ken on Barbie 2

The success of the Barbie movie continues to surpass borders and capture the attention of hundreds of artists, who quickly became interested in being part of the franchise. This is even the case for Irish actor Cillian Murphy, star of Barbie’s box office rival Oppenheimer, who highlighted his interest in portraying Ken in a potential sequel to the film.

The Oppenheimer cast doesn’t look down on their competition.

During a recent interview, Cillian Murphy was asked if he has any interest in participating in a sequel to the 2023 Barbie movie, directed by Greta Gerwig. To people’s surprise, he responded with a definite yes. “Would you play Ken in Barbie 2?,” the interview asked. “Yes, of course! Send me that script, let’s talk about it,” Murphy replied enthusiastically. “I can’t wait to see the first one. I’m excited.”

Funny enough, Matt Damon and Emily Blunt, who are also part of the Oppenheimer cast and were being interviewed at the same time, also seemed to be all in with being in the possible sequel, saying that they would “do anything with Greta Gerwig.”

Later, the actor was asked about his thoughts on both Barbie and Oppenheimer being released on the same day. He emphasized that it’s a good thing to have different promising films coming out simultaneously. “And I think it’s amazing for cinema that we have so many wonderful movies premiering in the same season,” Murphy added.

Oppenheimer seems to be settling into a box office hit status.
