What the Actors of “50 First Dates” Look Like 17 Years Later and What They Do Now

It’s impossible not to watch 50 First Dates every time we come across it. Thanks to the originality of its story, its charismatic characters, and its hilarious scenes, this comedy does not go out of fashion over the years; but there are big changes in the actors who played it.

At Now I’ve Seen Everything we loved seeing what the stars of this great movie look like and what they do now.

1. Adam Sandler as Henry Roth

The lead actor in this comedy is the iconic Adam Sandler, who has starred in a number of Hollywood movies making us cry, laugh, or both at the same time. During his career, Sandler has been involved in all aspects of movie production as he has helped in the development of some scripts and has also worked as an executive producer on different shoots. In 1999 he founded his own production company, called Happy Madison.

Sandler does not seem to have aged too much. Among his latest works, there is the popular Netflix movie Murder Mystery, and he also dazzled with Uncut Gems. His last movie was Hubie Halloween, although Sandler is always working on new movie projects.

2. Drew Barrymore as Lucy Whitmore

Drew Barrymore has a great career on the big screen since she started acting when she was just a child. In addition to playing Lucy in 50 First Dates, she has formed an excellent couple with Adam Sandler in other popular comedies, such as The Wedding Singer and Blended.

But Barrymore not only excels in her role as a comedian, she has also shown her versatility as a director, producer, and photographer. On her Instagram account, with more than 14 million followers, she is very natural and periodically uploads videos in which she tells anecdotes or everyday situations.

3. Rob Schneider as Ula

Rob Schneider began his career as a comedian shortly after graduating from high school. He is generally known for playing comedic characters. Schneider has never been short of projects and always manages to bring out more than a smile. He recently worked in Hubie Halloween alongside Adam Sandler and in the series The Masked Singer.

4. Sean Astin as Douglas ’Doug’ Whitmore

Sean Astin has a long history in the acting world. He played his first role as an actor in 1981, in a TV movie titled Please Don’t Hit Me, Mom, and from then on he almost never stopped. He took on one of his most important roles in The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-2003), where he gave life to Sam, Frodo’s faithful friend and collaborator.

On his website, Astin defines himself as an actor, director, producer, runner, activist, writer, husband, and father. In addition to acting, Sean has other passions, such as being a long-distance marathon runner, and has also been on the board of several non-profit organizations with interests such as mental health awareness and civic engagement.

5. Dan Aykroyd as Dr. Keats

Dan Aykroyd, 69, is a Canadian film writer, actor, comedian, singer, and screenwriter who, through his movie roles, managed to become known as a comedy actor. He has also performed in other movie genres such as drama, for example, in the movie Driving Miss Daisy.

He is still active in work related to Ghostbusters, as he was the screenwriter of the 1984 classic. Outside of the field of acting, he has also excelled as a musician and has recorded at least three blues albums.

6. Lusia Strus as Alexa

Lusia Strus was born in Chicago, USA, but comes from a Ukrainian family. Her career has spanned theater, movies, and television for almost two decades. However, her most recognized role is precisely the one she played in 50 First Dates, where she played Henry’s (Adam Sandler) eccentric assistant, although recently she has had appearances in popular series such as The Blacklist and New Amsterdam.

7. Blake Clark as Marlin Whitmore

Blake Clark has been primarily a comedy and voice artist, for example, in Toy Story 3 and 4, where he played the dog Slinky. He is also commonly seen in other comedies starring Adam Sandler, such as the recent production Hubie Halloween.

For the past 20 years, Clark has been doing comedy on the club circuit, on The Tonight Show, in HBO comedy specials, etc. In addition, he has appeared in over 50 movies and hundreds of episodes of television shows.

8. Amy Hill as Sue

Amy Hill is an American film and stage actress of Japanese and Finnish heritage. In addition to live acting, she has also done voice dubbing for various animated series and movies, such as Lilo and Stitch.

Currently, Hill is still in her career, she played Mama P in the Amazon show Just Add Magic and worked in several well-known series, such as Mom and Magnum P.I. She is also the voice of Mah Mah, Mah Mah Ling, and Helen in American Dad.

9. Allen Covert as “Ten-Second” Tom

Allen Covert in real life is very close friends with Adam Sandler. They studied together in college and since then they have not separated, so it is usual that he accompanies him in some of his productions. In addition to being a comedian, he is also a screenwriter and producer. In 2006 Covert starred in the comedy Grandma’s Boy, produced by Sandler. This was his first (and only) starring role.

10. Maya Rudolph as Stacy

In addition to 50 First Dates, she is remembered for her role as Lillian in Braidsmaids. Rudolph has been married to director Paul Thomas Anderson since 2001, they live in Los Angeles and have four children.

11. Pomaika’i Brown as Nick

Pomaika’i Brown played a particular chef in 50 First Dates. However, his main profession is not being an actor, but a musician. He began his musical career playing the ukulele at the age of 12.

Currently, Brown and his wife Toni run their own production company called Hollywood Brown Entertainment. They produce contemporary island music, television shows, and live Polynesian shows for a select clientele.
