We simply can’t resist our pets, and great minds like Konrad Lorenz explained the logic behind this through the “baby schema.” Humans react to facial features that are baby-like — round faces, large eyes, and small noses and mouths. And since our furry friends have the same attributes, we feel a similar urge to love and take care of them as we do with newborns.
