So far, only one movie remake has ever won the Oscar for Best Picture — The Departed (2006), an American version of the Hong Kong film, Infernal Affairs (2002). Since then, remakes have become increasingly popular in Hollywood. The public, however, sometimes shows apprehension towards their favorite movies being re-done. So perhaps the key would be if beloved films were remade by the exact same cast this day.
