Kensington Palace officials announced that Kate Middleton has undergone a scheduled abdominal surgery and is anticipated to stay in the hospital for a recovery period of approximately 10 to 14 days. The 42-year-old princess was admitted on January 16 for the mentioned surgery.

After the procedure, a statement from palace officials on Instagram indicates that Kate Middleton is expected to refrain from resuming her public duties until after Easter. The statement aligns with the palace’s policy of maintaining the privacy of the royal family’s personal medical information, and as such, the specific reasons for her surgery have not been disclosed.

The palace statement acknowledged the potential public interest generated by the news. However, it emphasized the princess’s desire to keep her medical details private. Simultaneously, the statement underscored the commitment to maintaining as much normalcy as possible for her children during her recovery period.

After the announcement of the Princess of Wales’ recent surgery, an outpouring of support and well-wishes from fans worldwide has emerged. In the comment section of the Kensington Palace post, many admirers conveyed their thoughts and prayers, expressing hope for her swift recovery.

One fan expressed, “Prayers to you and your beautiful family. We are sending you thoughts of love and healing!”

Another comment read, “Prayers for a full and speedy recovery for Princess Catherine; for peace and comfort and strength. Prayers as well for Prince William and the children.”

While the palace officially declined to disclose the reason for Kate’s treatment, they did confirm that the condition is non-cancerous.

During Kate’s hospitalization and immediately following her discharge, Prince William is expected to decrease his participation in public engagements. Furthermore, in the subsequent period, he will scale back his duties to provide support for Kate and their children. There are currently no plans for the couple to undertake any international travel in the upcoming months.
