survey found that 48% of young adults believe that having a personal sense of commitment to your partner is more important than being legally married. Weddings may not be for everyone, and each couple may have their own preference. But the celebrity couples on this list have chosen not to tie the knot after years (or decades) of being together, proving that their love remains strong even without the paperwork that officially binds it.

1. Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham

Graham and Winfrey met at a fundraiser in 1986 and have been together ever since. Winfrey has stated multiple times that she’d never gotten married or had children and, therefore, has no regrets. “We would not have stayed together because marriage requires a different way of being in this world,” Winfrey declared in 2017.

2. Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling

Mendes and Gosling, who share 2 daughters, have been together since 2011 after meeting on the set of their movie, The Place Beyond the Pines. The actress once revealed, ’’I love the idea of a union, that’s very beautiful. I just don’t think it should be a piece of paper because society tells me to.’’

She added that she finds it really appealing ’’to be with someone in their fifties or sixties and be like, ’That’s my boyfriend.’’’ She continued explaining that she thinks ’’husband’’ and ’’wife’’ are unsexy words.

3. Vin Diesel and Paloma Jiménez

Since 2007, the Fast and Furious actor has been with Jiménez, with whom he has 3 children: Hania, Vincent, and Pauline, named after Diesel’s deceased co-star, Paul Walker. He has rarely opened up about his relationship; in a few interviews, he stated, “I’m not gonna put it out there on a magazine cover like some other actors.”

4. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham

The supermodel and her actor beau met at a London party in 2009. They are parents to a 4-year-old son and a daughter born in 2022. But even after more than a decade together, the couple doesn’t seem in a hurry to walk down the aisle. She explained, ’’For any couple that’s been together for a certain amount of time, there’s a massive amount of pressure to get married. I totally believe in marriage, but being in a happy relationship is much more important to me.’’

5. Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor

The 2 actresses first met at a party in the early 2000s, but it wasn’t until 2015 that they became romantically linked. Later, Paulson confirmed their love, saying, “What I can say absolutely is that I am in love, and that person happens to be Holland Taylor.”

6. Maya Rudolph and Paul Thomas Anderson

The actress and film director had been together since 2001 and are parents to 4 children. And even though they never officialized their union, Rudolph revealed that she had stopped calling Anderson her ’’boyfriend’’ after having kids and that she had been referring to him as her ’’husband’’ ever since. She explained, ’’It means he’s the father of my child and I live with him and we are a couple and we are not going anywhere."

7. Jane Fallon and Ricky Gervais

Gervais and Fallon have been together for nearly 41 years now; they both realized early in their relationship they had identical thoughts about marriage and children. They are happily unmarried.

When asked about their willingness to get married, Gervais said, “Don’t see the point. We are married for all intents and purposes, everything’s shared and actually, our fake marriage has lasted longer than a real one... but there’s no point in us having an actual ceremony.”

8. Tilda Swinton and Sandro Kopp

EAST NEWS

Tilda Swinton and artist Sandro Kopp have been dating since 2004 when they met on the set of The Chronicles of Narnia, but they aren’t married or even in a free marriage, despite what has been reported.

The famous actress declared, “I think many more people live in the way that we do — in a state of real love and support — than newspapers might lead you to believe. I think newspapers love a bit of friction, and we’re a pretty friction-free zone. It’s pretty dull.”

9. Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble

The famous ’’momager’’ who has been twice married and divorced has been dating Gamble since 2014. She had revealed that they have no plans of tying the knot, saying, “I don’t have the need to put on a long, white dress and walk down an aisle. I’ve done that.’’ She then added, ’’I just feel really grateful and blessed for my past experiences and I’m looking forward to my future and I just don’t think that I want to go there.”

10. Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid

Since 2013, the Friends actress and the Snow Patrol singer have been dating. “He’s just so smart, and I find that really sexy. Then there’s the fact that he’s stunning,” Courteney Cox described of her boyfriend, Johnny McDaid.

The 57-year-old actress who had been previously married filed for divorce in 2010. She started dating her current partner, Bryan Randall, in 2015 and it seems that the pair don’t have any marriage plans for the future. Bullock explained, ’’I don’t want to say do it like I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother."

12. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell

The heroes of this long-lasting Hollywood romance first met in 1966 on the movie set, but didn’t start dating until 1983. Kurt and Goldie have a son, Wyatt, and 3 more children from their previous relationships, Kate and Oliver Hudson and Boston Russell. The 2 have never been officially married, but their relationship has always been an example to follow.

“We have done it just perfectly without marrying,” said Goldie. “I already feel devoted and isn’t that what marriage is supposed to do? So as long as my emotional state is in a state of devotion, honesty, caring, and loving, then we’re fine. We have raised our children brilliantly; they are beautiful people. We did a great job there and we didn’t have to get married to do that.”
