Bad luck has an uncanny way of sneaking into our everyday lives. It can transform a perfectly ordinary morning into a series of unfortunate events that can ruin the entire mood and set the tone for the day ahead. But nevertheless, bad luck is a part of life, and it’s inevitable that we’ll encounter it from time to time.
“Girlfriend bumped into heater.”
“Asked my 8 year old to put the eggs back in the fridge after breakfast this morning.”
“Called my boyfriend from the supermarket to check if I needed to grab more pads, he said ‘no there’s loads left’.”
“My kid during his birthday safari.”
“The tree decided today was the day it would fall over. Landed on some poor person’s car.”
“Wife bought a new plant pot and put it on the shelf over the toilet. And an hour later, we heard a crash...”
“Sorry class, my dog ate everyone’s homework.”
“Never try on someone else’s ring.”
“My uncle’s suitcase after his flight.”
“I’ve eaten 2 blueberry waffles, then saw the package was for the plain waffles. I ate mold.”
“I was the only one who attended my b-day party. So I got some balloon friends to join.”
“The way my clothes come out of the wash/dry.”
“Tanned a bit too much while wearing shoes. Kids call them my chimp feet.”
“It’s my husband’s tooth brush.”
“Someone forgot his sunscreen.”
But here’s the silver lining: while bad luck can cast a shadow over our day, it doesn’t have to define it entirely. Even if it happens during our vacation or holidays. How we choose to respond to these challenges can make all the difference. We can choose to find humor in the absurdity of it all, seek support from other people, or take a few deep breaths to regain our composure.
