The pair, barefoot and intertwined in a spooning position, carelessly extended their feet into the aisle, much to Flea’s dismay.

So? It's feet. Almost everyone has them. Let them be comfy and have fun. Worst would be sneezing on seats, coughing and Flem come out, body fluids, foul odor, etc. and how do you know the feet may be dirtier than hands, which could be gross and obviously touch everything.
