A husband on TikTok is bravely confronting critics who accuse his wife of being with him solely for his wealth, based on the perception that she is more attractive. Scott, a resident of Texas, and his wife Divine, originally from the Philippines, crossed paths in 2017 when she mistakenly messaged him on Facebook, confusing him for someone else.

Scott’s life was a bit bland before he met Divine.

Their lucky encounter led to a blossoming long-distance relationship, ultimately leading to marriage when Scott proposed to Divine during a visit to her homeland in the same year. After nearly four years, Divine made the life-changing decision to relocate to the United States, where they officially tied the knot. Throughout this period, their relationship primarily thrived online, although Scott managed to visit his girlfriend on six separate occasions.

Scott has been bravely battling scleroderma since the age of 13—a challenging autoimmune disease characterized by skin inflammation and affecting various parts of the body. The aggressive nature of the illness resulted in Scott missing out on significant milestones during his high school and college years, confining him to the comforts of home.

Determined to regain a sense of normalcy, Scott made the courageous decision at the age of 23 to pursue work and embrace activities that he had longed to experience. Meeting Divine was a catalyst, inspiring him to defy the limitations set by his doctors and embark on travels. Despite concerns about his oxygen levels not meeting the required standards, Scott defied the odds and flew to the Philippines on six separate occasions to be reunited with the love of his life.

Witnessing their deep connection, Scott’s family wholeheartedly acknowledges the impact Divine has had on his life. Throughout their relationship, he has blossomed into a more confident and joyous individual, basking in the radiance that Divine has brought into his world.

They opened a Tik Tok account together in 2021, but haters refused to believe they could ever be together. The most common misconceptions about their relationship are that Divine is with him only so that she can get her green card or because he is rich. But the couple only laughs at it, claiming their journey was long and hard and their union is real.

They recently made a TikTok video responding to a comment, “Wow. He isn’t cute at all. Come on. Be real with us.” To which Scott replied, “Guess it doesn’t really matter — she thinks I’m handsome.” Taking it even further, Divine said, “Yeah, what are you talking about, guys? My husband is very, very handsome,” she grabbed his face, caressing his cheek and giving him a huge kiss on the lips.

They shared a few wise words for those having a long-distance relationship.

“The only thing I can recommend is just to have patience because long-distance is hard, and you’re always going to make sacrifices to be in their life no matter how far away or what time it is,” opens up Scott. “Trust the process,” adds Divine.
