My Husband Harshly Humiliated Me on Our Wedding Day — I Filed for Divorce Immediately
A wedding is often considered one of the most important days of our lives, and we all hope everything goes according to plan. However, one bride was left in tears by her partner on their special day. Before the wedding, she had even pleaded with him not to pull any cruel pranks on her. What he thought was a joke, however, devastated her, and just 48 hours after the wedding, she is now filing for divorce.
The first red flag appeared months before the wedding.
A woman, known by the username Constant-Nebula-1982, took to social media to share the heartbreak she experienced when her husband humiliated her on their special day. She also revealed how he received immediate karma for his actions.
She began her story by mentioning that she was writing it just two days after their wedding. The couple had been together for four years, one of which was spent engaged.
It all started months before the wedding when she noticed her husband, Jake, watching prank videos. Among the pranks were ones where the bride’s embarrassing photos were projected for everyone to see, or where the bride’s face was shoved into a cake. She wrote, "I told him straight away that I didn't want anything like that at our wedding. He just laughed and said that he wasn't planning anything like that."
The woman thought that was the end of it, but then she started noticing strange behavior from Jake. He suddenly took an interest in picking the wedding photographer and the cake, which she found unusual.
On the wedding day, the woman experienced the deepest emotional pain of her life.
The woman highlighted that she was so concerned about the smoothness of their special day, that she decided to talk to her husband-to-be one more time. She reminded him the day before that if he did something like that, she would break up with him immediately.
When the day of the wedding came, everything went smoothly until the ceremony. Until the moment came when the cake was to be cut. The whole room watched as the bride made the first cut and the photographer stood in front of the couple with camera in hand.
Suddenly, the woman felt a hand on the back of her head, pushing her face-first into the cake. Not only her make-up but the whole wedding dress was ruined, and the whole room laughed, her husband the loudest.
The man faced immediate karma for his wrongdoing.
The woman recalls the most humiliating moment of her life when the photographer snapped a picture just as Jake declared that it would now be their wedding photo. Overcome with emotion, she turned, slapped him across the face, and ran out of the room in tears.
Karma didn’t take long to strike, and it came in the form of his own brother. The woman described how she ran to the restroom, crying when she suddenly heard loud shouting from the hall. It was her husband’s brother, Frank. She could barely make out what he was saying, but when she stepped out of the bathroom, he was waiting for her.
Frank told her that Jake had something he needed to say. Jake, visibly shaken, apologized without meeting his wife’s gaze. Frank, however, insisted that he look her in the eye and apologize again. The woman admitted that, in that moment, she was a bit scared of Frank, as she had always seen him as kind and gentle. She confessed that she had never witnessed him angry before.
The woman's final decision regarding her marriage was difficult but ultimately justified.
The woman continues her story, explaining that she asked Frank if he thought it would be an overreaction for her to separate from her husband. Frank replied that it wasn’t, saying she deserved better and that he didn’t care how his brother felt because Jake had brought it on himself. He offered his help with collecting her things and gave her his number.
Ultimately, the woman decided to separate from Jake and file for divorce, informing him and both families of her decision. Jake tried to convince her not to go through with it, claiming it was just a harmless prank. The woman shares that both families bombarded her with messages, calling it ridiculous to end her marriage over this. However, she sees it differently.
She wrote, "If he does something like this to me despite multiple requests not to do it even after promising he wouldn't do it, then I can't trust him. No matter what he promises me. I have to assume that the opposite can and will happen. And that he doesn't care at all how I feel about his decisions. This situation can be projected onto so many much worse situations where it would be important for me to be able to trust him."
His brother Frank seems to be the only one who supports her now, and she will go through with the divorce. She concludes her post, writing, "Call me humorless, call me what you want, but I have given my reasons."
And here's another story of a woman who was dumped just before her wedding because of her weight. She went on to get her "revenge body" and ultimately won a beauty pageant.
