Ryan Reynolds Did It Again: Ugly Christmas Sweater Video with the Person Nobody Expected to See

Ryan Reynolds returns as Deadpool, but this time he’s not alone. Their mission? To “eliminate” sick kids... or rather, eliminate sickness for sick kids. And to pull it off, they call in some truly wondrous backup.

In a heartwarming new campaign to benefit The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Ryan Reynolds dons his iconic Marvel persona, Deadpool, teaming up with none other than Kidpool — played by his 8-year-old daughter, Inez Reynolds.

Together, they hatch a hilariously irreverent plan to help sick kids, but even this dynamic duo needs backup. Enter the legendary Lynda Carter, the original Wonder Woman, who lends her star power to the cause.

Carter, now 73, still radiates the same heroic charm that made her a cultural icon in the 1970s live-action Wonder Woman TV series. Her cameo adds a delightful, rare crossover vibe to the campaign, blending Marvel’s mischief with DC’s gravitas — though, true to form, Deadpool can’t resist poking fun at DC in the dialogue.

But it wouldn’t be the holidays without Reynolds’ famous ugly Christmas sweater making an appearance. What started as an inside joke with his friends has snowballed into a near-annual tradition, with Reynolds humorously trotting out the hideous knitwear for good causes. Fans will remember the time his friends Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal hilariously duped him into being the only one dressed up at a “sweater party.”

This year, however, the sweater serves a more meaningful purpose, symbolizing warmth, generosity, and a bit of cheeky holiday fun — all for the kids at SickKids. This campaign perfectly blends humor, heart, and heroics, proving once again that Reynolds isn’t just a superhero on screen — he’s one in real life too.

Fans were excited with such a collaboration, noticing several things about this trio.

And here are some interesting facts about Ryan.

  • According to his social media posts, he once worked early on as a forklift driver in a supermarket. Even before the move to Los Angeles, Reynolds starred in a series of obscure TV series and films, the most famous of which was Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
  • Aside from Sabrina, Reynolds also appeared in Scrubs, The X-Files, National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, Just Friends, and Definitely, Maybe.
  • In 2005, the actor wanted to play Deadpool, and as we know, his wish would come true in the future. But before that, he got the role of a different superhero. In 2011, he appeared in The Green Lantern. The film was a total failure, and almost everyone laughed at Reynolds' animated costume.
  • Reynolds thinks the reason the film was a flop was the studio's rush to release it as fast as possible. He says that the script was lacking, but he doesn't regret having this experience. Also, he says that thanks to this movie, he managed to beat his fear of heights. As a teenager, he had a bad experience with a parachute jump, and he'd been afraid of planes ever since.
  • Reynolds laughed at himself and The Green Lantern numerous times, even in his other movies. For example, in Deadpool, there's a reference to it — at some point, the main character doesn't let Reynolds take the role of the Lantern and "saves" the future.
  • Gradually, aside from comedies, the actor started to appear in thrillers. But his most famous work is still Deadpool, which earned millions of dollars and got him a Golden Globe nomination.
  • It’s interesting to note that the studio refused to pay the writers to be present on set, so Reynolds had to pay them himself.

  • The actor’s personal life is also often discussed online. For 10 years, he has been married to Blake Lively, and they have 4 kids. They often joke with each other online. And few people know this, but it’s actually his second marriage: he was previously married to Scarlett Johansson for just 2 years.
  • Before getting married, Lively and Reynolds went on a double date, but with other partners.

It’s always exciting to see a crossover, a reunion of favorite actors, or a special tribute they create. Moments like these bring together beloved characters or stars in unexpected ways, making fans feel nostalgic and thrilled all at once.
