19 Cheeky Children Who Show Us a Fresh Perspective on Life

When we grow older, we lose that innocent and naive outlook on life. We get so immersed in this whirlwind of busyness that it’s hard to get out of it. However, sometimes it only takes looking down and seeing a child doing some kind of mischief for an unconscious smile to appear on our face.

1. “2-year-old insisted that the puzzle is built like this.”

2. “My daughter showed me the rings of Saturn with her telescope this morning for Father’s Day.”

  • I bought my first telescope when I was 15 and showed my dad Saturn’s rings back then... He got me interested in science in general as a kid since he was a nuclear physicist. I’m 43 now, and he still talks about that evening to this day. Great memories for both of us. © ijustdontgivea* / Reddit

3. “Asked to use my AirPods and then I find this...”

4. “My daughter used markers to put ’makeup’ on her dolls. I tried to wash them. Cinderella had an especially rough night.”

  • My daughter does the same thing, except now she has a curly-haired Baby Alive that looks like the offspring of Post Malone. © californialimabean / Reddit

5. “My 3-year-old daughter caught her first fish today.”

  • I am a 43-year-old man. I own a kayak and 2 fishing poles. I’ve actually fished maybe 25 times in my life, but the only thing I’ve ever caught was a pelican. My little sister caught a fish when she was like 8. And now, to be bested by a 3-year-old. © Paexan / Reddit

9. “This is how my son ate his banana this morning.”

10. “My 5-year-old son’s dad joke, it’s an ’earthworm’”

11. “My 10-year-old daughter loves to set her barbies up in elaborate scenarios. This was the scene on our back patio the other day. These ladies have been at this for hours.”

12. “I set out a suitcase to pack for my flight and spotted my 3-year-old crawling inside it to hide. I zipped it up, yelled, ’I’M OFF TO THE AIRPORT, EVERYBODY!’, and carried it to the car. I’ve circled the block twice and my luggage hasn’t stopped laughing.”

13. “First time in 5 years of waitressing that I’ve been moved to tears (of joy). Little girl came in with her family last week, and I complimented her Cinderella necklace. Tonight they came back, and she had a gift for me. I’ve been going through a rough time lately and this lit up my life.”

14. “Every night, my toddler has to say goodnight to the birds.”

17. “I sat on the toilet, closed the door, and my 2 y.o. decided I wasn’t doing my business fast enough.”

  • Just as creepy is when they shove their little fingers under the door and look for something that could help them get in. Straight out of a horror movie. © chelenic13 / Reddit
  • My 15-month-old just started doing this and let me just say that it was way cuter when my cat used to do it. © frontbot***sbaby / Reddit
