15+ Mistakes in Movies That Are Attention Tests for True Fans

Movies
year ago

On average, a Hollywood movie takes an astonishing 871 days to produce. That’s 2 years, 4 months, and 19 days. In the end, films require the labor of so many people that mistakes are nearly impossible. However, to err is human, and even the biggest projects might have little flaws that attentive fans notice, but those only make our favorite scenes better.

We at Now I’ve Seen Everything found a few examples right here.

1. The War with Grandpa

Robert De Niro’s character in the movie The War with Grandpa grabs his right knee after falling. But his left knee is bandaged afterward.

2. Top Gun

Apparently, the scene where Maverick and Charlie meet in an elevator after their training was filmed later, as Kelly McGillis’ hair appears to have been dyed a different shade. Although she tries to hide it with a hat, it looks darker on her. This could be considered a continuity error in the film’s story.

3. Forrest Gump

Forrest’s friend Lieutenant Dan decided to invest money in some “fruit company.” As it turned out, the fruit was an apple, and the company was the legendary Apple. After that, in one of the episodes, Gump received a letter from Apple Computer Inc. The date on the letter said September 23, 1975. But the real foundation date is April 1, 1976.

4. Don’t Look Up

In the movie Don’t Look Up, the gloves on the main heroine’s hands appear and disappear during the discovery scene.

5. Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope

C-3PO and R2-D2 are hidden in the Death Star control room when a battalion of soldiers enters through the door to look for them. It’s then that a stormtrooper hits his head on the door that was lower than he thought. The moment was funny to the director who not only decided to leave it but also asked production to add sound to the hit so it wouldn’t go unnoticed.

6. Troy

Nothing unusual. Just a plane in BC times. Either the creators thought that the Greeks might need aerial support, or they figured that the viewers would be charmed by Brad Pitt and they won’t notice this small mistake.

7. Twilight

One of the most famous couples in cinema is that of the mortal Bella and the vampire Edward from the Twilight saga. From the first time they exchanged words, supernatural events followed them. We see how in the 2008 movie, the shelf behind Edward has a decoration and, after exchanging a couple of words with Bella, the decoration has changed.

8. Cruella

A banana slice that stuck to the main character’s cheek in the movie Cruella becomes bigger in a matter of seconds.

9. Clueless

In the 1995 film, we can also see some mistakes, like the fact that Amber’s hair grows longer and shorter throughout the film. In some scenes, we see her with long hair, while in others, it only reaches her shoulders.

10. Game of Thrones

The Unsullied are known to the viewers as the loyal warriors who are ready to sacrifice their lives for Daenerys, their Queen. None of them have any romantic relationships with women. And there is a reason for that. The love of the Grey Worm and Missandei is an exception. But, judging by this shot from the show, one of them is still married, or maybe, he just likes jewelry.

11. The Princess Diaries

When the actress Anne Hathaway who plays the main character, Mia, talks to her friend while climbing the steps in the schoolyard, she accidentally slips and falls. Some actors in the cast wanted to go and help her, but she decided to continue the scene by laughing at her clumsiness and continuing the conversation she was having while in character.

12. Titanic

We’re about to finish our popcorn, but we couldn’t leave this mega-production out. Titanic was not spared from our list. Jack is handcuffed to a ship’s tube as we see him in suspenders (02:06:06). Then, Rose frees him with an ax and appears to have slashed off his suspenders (02:06:15). However, in the next shot, we see Jack again with them.

13. Enola Holmes

The plot of the film takes place in Great Britain at the end of the 19th century, when the hairstyle worn by women of the time consisted of having their hair tied back with some loose curls at the sides, outlining their faces. However, the fact that the protagonist is generally shown with a half-updo did not prevent the film from being well-received.

14. Tarzan

Sabor is a Leopard that appears several times in the animated movie Tarzan, always with his fierce and threatening gestures. However, when we just go to minute 00:06:40 of the film, we can see that the color of Sabor’s ears changes from black to orange.

15. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

In one scene, the actor playing the android K 2S0 accidentally hit his partner, Diego Luna. Far from apologizing, he added, “And I have another one just like it if you talk again.”
If you watch the scene closely, you’ll notice that the beaten-up actor had to cover his face with his hand to hide his laughter; and despite those unexpected events, the scene was left like that, since the joke was in accordance with the character’s sense of humor.

16. Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame is one of the most successful movies of all time, so we couldn’t let it escape from our countdown. In the scene where some kids approached Hulk to take a picture, we can see that the pancake is cut in the middle (00:38:00). Thirty-eight seconds later, the two halves are joined together. Could it have been Doctor Strange?

17. Brave

Based on Queen Elinor’s hairstyle (2 knee-length braids, tied with ribbons), this film appears to be set around the 12th century. With that in mind, Merida’s intention to wear her hair long and loose would be appropriate for an unmarried woman. Therefore, her mother’s desire to continually fix her hair would make no sense.

What do you think about these mistakes in movies or series? What else have you noticed that does not appear in this list?
