10 Lovable Stars Who Have Chosen to Stay Away from Plastic Surgery
Show business is a space where everyone is being judged about how pretty and how thin they are. That’s why many stars feel the pressure or are being told straight in their face that they need to have plastic surgery and botox. And while this is entirely their right to do, it’s not okay when they do it because they feel that they are not enough as they are. Thankfully, there are many actresses who don’t let that pressure get to them.
1. Gillian Anderson
When fans began to discuss Gillian’s youthful complexion after the release of the X Files reboot, the actress said that she didn’t care what other people said about her. She knew she didn’t do any plastic surgery, and that was that.
2. Rachel Weisz
Not only does the 52-year-old actress not want to get cosmetic work done on herself, but she also believes that anti-aging injections should be a big no-no for other actors. She noted, “[Botox] should be banned for actors, as steroids are for sportsmen.” Weisz added, “Acting is all about expression; why would you want to iron out a frown?”
Weisz also believes that looking flawless can make a person lose a part of their charm. She noted that, for her, people "who look too perfect don’t look appealing or particularly beautiful.’’
3. Jodie Foster
Jodie Foster thinks that modern society makes women transform themselves according to fashion standards. The actress is against plastic surgery and she isn’t afraid of wrinkles. “It’s not my thing. I don’t have anything against it for other people. Whatever they want to do, I’m fine with it. For me, it’s really a self-image thing. Like, I’d rather have somebody go, ’Wow, that girl has a bad nose’ than ’Wow, that girl has a bad nose job.”
4. Kate Beckinsale
Despite looking so youthful with glowing skin, the 49-year-old actress revealed that she has never had any cosmetic work done. Beckinsale explained, “I’m frightened of paralyzing my face.” She also added that her mom is a big part of her argument against going under the knife. She said, ’’My mum wouldn’t even get a facial, she’s suspicious of anything like that and looks radiant and amazing.’’
5. Emma Thompson
Emma says about botox that “It’s mad. It’s not a normal thing to do, and the culture that we’ve created that says it’s normal, is not normal.” She added “Why do people ask persons to cut them open and put things into their body?. What is that, what are we doing to ourselves?”
6. Halle Berry
The 56-year-old star insists that she has never gone under the knife despite being pressured to do so. She explained, ’’I won’t lie and tell you that those things don’t cross my mind because somebody is always suggesting it to me.’’
She also admitted that seeing others in the industry get cosmetic procedures can sometimes be tempting. Berry noted, “When you see everybody around you doing it, you have those moments when you think, ’To stay alive in this business, do I need to do the same thing?’” However, the actress insists that she’ll never give in to these thoughts because she believes that true beauty is what we do and “not so much about physical self.”
7. Meryl Streep
Meryl Streep always says that she’s against plastic surgery. “It’s not just women. You’d be amazed at how many men in this industry have gone down that road. I just don’t get it. You have to embrace getting older. Life is precious, and when you’ve lost a lot of people, you realize each day is a gift.”
8. Drew Barrymore
The 47-year-old actress and TV host noted, “I’ve never done anything to my face and I would like to try not to.” Barrymore further explained that she’s afraid that if she starts with one injection, she wouldn’t be able to stop, and this is why she’d rather stay away from procedures altogether.
And when it comes to others who have decided to get work done, the actress had this advice to give: “Let go and give in to the ride of life a little bit more.”
9. Heidi Klum
The 49-year-old supermodel revealed that she never had plastic surgery to keep her gorgeous good looks intact. She insisted, “I’ve never done anything.” Klum then explained that the reason for her decision is that she is “too scared.”
She opened up, saying that instead of getting needles and injections in her forehead, she chose to have bangs to hide the wrinkles.
10. Isabelle Huppert
Do you think that social media and certain figures in them promote plastic surgery as the normal thing to do or is it society in general?
