7 Times Dwayne Johnson Proved That Being a Father Is His Priority
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has quite the portfolio when it comes to his career. He is a pro wrestler, an A-list actor, and a philanthropist. But it seems that his most important role is becoming a father to 3 beautiful girls — his eldest, Simone, and the 2 daughters he shares with his wife, Lauren Hashian, namely Jasmine and Tiana. And based on his social media posts, it looks like he is enjoying every bit of his fatherhood journey.
Being a dad of girls is a great challenge, but he makes it look easy.
In an Instagram post, Johnson shared, “Every man wants a son, but every man needs a daughter. All my girls have become the great equalizers in my life — I’m surrounded by estrogen and wouldn’t have it any other way!”
He’s a hands-on father.
According to The Rock, he hopes to cultivate a more nurturing relationship with his children than with his father. Though his dad loved him, their relationship was complex and challenging. In raising his daughters, he prioritizes being present, attentive, and actively participating in their upbringing. This includes accompanying them to school and taking them to soccer.
He sets a new standard for being a strong, loving, and nurturing parent.
Johnson has always been known for his incredible strength and tough exterior, but his softer side may surprise some. The Rock is not only secure in his masculinity, but he embraces it in unexpected ways.
Without hesitation, he regularly partakes in manicures, tea parties, and dress-up with his littlest daughters. He is proving that being a loving and involved father is not at odds with traditional ideas of masculinity.
He’s not shy about showing off his parenting style online.
Johnson posted a clip on Instagram showcasing his 2 youngest daughters giving him a complete makeover, including applying makeup and fitting him with a blonde wig. “First morning back home with my tornados, and by 8 a.m. they insisted on giving ’Dwanta Claus a makeover before Christmas.’ I haven’t seen myself in the mirror yet, but if I look as cool as I feel right now, then I’m winning, baby,” he wrote.
He has become gentler because of his daughters.
Raising young girls has undoubtedly had a profound impact on him, as he has become more empathetic and sensitive to the needs of others. He advises fathers of daughters to “just be there,” highlighting how having daughters taught him to be “more tender and gentle.”
He supports his eldest daughter, who is following in his footsteps.
The actor’s beloved firstborn, Simone, fulfilled her lifelong dream of signing with the WWE. By taking this step, she made history as the first fourth-generation Superstar in WWE and also the youngest signee in the company’s history, a testament to her incredible talent and dedication.
The actor couldn’t be more proud of Simone and excited to see her shine on the big stage. “She signed her contract with the WWE and you know it blows my mind,” the proud dad said. “First of all, what an honor that my daughter wants to follow in my footsteps, but more importantly... she actually wants to create and blaze her own path, which is so important.”
Being a dad is his number one priority.
He sets an example for other fathers by prioritizing his fatherly duties and encouraging them to do the same. In a caption, he wrote, “I know a lot of you men out there understand me when I say, of all the roles us men play in our daily hustle and grind of life, my favorite one of all is ’dad.’” Or, as he also stated, “My number one priority is my daughters.”
