A public event is stressful for anyone. Imagine how nervous stars are when they are in front of thousands of people and cameras. And yes, sometimes mishaps happen right in front of the crowd. But that doesn’t upset the stars, and they go on with a smile.

Emma Stone

The actress picked up the coveted statuette at the Oscars 2024 ceremony. Right on stage, Emma discovered that the lock on her dress had come apart at the back. She had to support the top of the dress and turned the situation into a joke.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence had just won her first Academy Award when she experienced a truly humiliating moment in front of the entire world. The actress slipped on the stairwell on her way up to accept her Best Actress award in 2013.

They also gave Jennifer Lawrence a standing ovation for her win. However, she felt they were doing it for pity. She later opened up about her embarrassment during that moment, «I was very nervous and also very superstitious. I didn’t want to acknowledge the possibility that I would win,» Lawrence reminisced about that night.

The actress continues: «I was very nervous, but I was ready. All the adrenaline clears out, and they call my name. I’m in shock. And then I fell, and it erased everything from my mind. I can look back at it now fondly, but for a long time the fall thing was very sensitive.»

Wardrobe malfunctions happen all the time, and they’re much more awful when they happen on the red carpet in front of cameras and fans. Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore were wearing matching white gowns to the Charlie’s Angels 2 premiere in 2003 when Diaz’s shoes broke minutes before the event. Thus, the actress flung them off and strutted down the red carpet barefoot, towering over her co-stars.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry has put on several memorable performances over the course of her career. When performing at MTV’s Latin America Awards in 2008, the artist leaped into a massive desert. Her spectacular performance, however, did not go as planned, as the diva slipped on the icing and fell dramatically a minute later. It’s amusing how many times she tries to go offstage, just to slide and fall again.

Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift

Olivia Rodriguez walked away with three trophies at the 2022 Grammy Awards. Unfortunately, not everything ran smoothly that night, and Olivia, while posing in the winners’ photo room after the ceremony, dropped one of her prizes, and the golden gramophone quickly broke in half as expected.

The accident brought to many people’s attention what happened to Taylor Swift in 2010. The award-winning singer has been nominated over 40 times and has built a name for herself in the music scene. However, Taylor had trouble keeping track of four prizes that night, and one gramophone was dropped and cracked. Olivia Rodrigo has long adored Taylor Swift, and she can now boast that she shares a trait with the blonde singer.

Madonna and Drake

Madonna startled Coachella attendees in April 2015 when she kissed Drake, who was sitting on the stage, to dance with her. Madonna slipped behind him while pushing his chin backward and laying a kiss on his lips. Drake’s enthusiasm seemed to lessen as time went on and as the kiss ended, he leaned forward and opened his mouth, perhaps in distaste or surprise. Drake’s reaction offended many people, since he appeared to be disgusted by the kiss.

After the photo went viral, Drake wrote that it had been «misinterpreted.» Nonetheless, the photo represents an unpleasant and slightly amusing moment for both of them.

Steve Harvey

Imagine being crowned Miss Universe and then having to relinquish your title because of a gaffe. Steve Harvey, the host of Miss Universe 2015, proclaimed Miss Colombia as the winner instead of Miss Philippines who had won the competition. Miss Colombia discovered that host Steve Harvey had misread the results live on television while blowing kisses and waving to her devoted supporters.

Steve incorrectly claimed that Miss Colombia had won the title, and once he realized that Miss Philippines was the winner, he had to return to the stage and retract his mistake. The blunder caught everyone off guard, resulting in a flurry of reactions. Steve later apologized live on TV and also through a series of tweets. “This was a terribly honest human mistake, and I am so regretful.”

A woman came to the Oscar ceremony in a long dress. Walking in front of the photographers, Lisa fell down. And then everyone saw her shoes on a very high heel, because of which she fell. But this did not upset the star, and she laughed.

It happens a lot with stars. They probably feel uncomfortable at that moment. But they have learnt to ignore such trifles and forget them.
