When two people expect their child, one of the first things they start thinking about is the name they are going to choose. In some cases, they choose a grandparent’s name, which simplifies things a lot. On other occasions, it’s a name that means something to them. Some parents, though, like to wait for their kid to be born first, so they can see which name fits their personality.

When the couple first welcomed their son, they had decided to name him Casper Emerson. However, in November 2022 they changed their minds and opted for a new name, Ryder Caspian. There was no specific reason behind the decision.

2. Elon Musk and Grimes

Elon Musk and Grimes are examples of parents who gave their child one of the most unusual names of all time: X Æ A-12. However, later, it turned out that it was illegal to give a child such a name because of a law in California that states you may only use the 26 alphabetical characters of the English language in a name. But it seems like Elon found a way around this rule, changing the numbers 12 to Roman numerals, leaving the baby with the name X Æ A-Xii.

3. Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott

In 2022, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott became parents for the second time, welcoming their son, Wolf. However, recently, the couple decided to change his name. The young mom admitted the pair simply didn’t feel the name “was him.” So in 2023, they announced that they new name of the son would be Aire.

The story behind Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer changing the name of their son is pretty funny. The couple named their child Gene Attell, but later realized it sounded like “genital.” Now, the boy’s name is Gene David.

The couple are parents to two kids, one son and one daughter. In November 2022, they decided to make a small addition to both their kids’ names. They added Hahn’s maiden name as the second middle name to both of their kids.

As Cetylynn commented: “Every time someone would say Tezlee, we would cringe! It just wasn’t sitting with us like it did at first,” she revealed.

Former TV-show star Jamie Otis and her husband, Doug Hehner, welcomed their son in 2020. Before the child’s birth, the couple agreed that they’d name him Hayes Douglas, however, things changed when they met him for the first time. “The minute we had our son...I almost called him Hendrix. That was like a top name for him.”

Eventually, the couple decided to call him Hendrix. So it seems like you need to see a baby first in order to define their final name.

8. Caterina Scorsone and Rob Giles

Grey’s Anatomy star Caterina Scorsone and her husband, Rob Giles, decided on changing the name of their daughter 4 months after her birth. The girl was initially named Arwen, but the parents have decided to call her by her middle name instead, Lucinda or “Lucky” for short. The couple commented they’d had a change of heart after getting to know their little one.
