She Stopped Policing Her Body And Everything Around Her Quietly Changed

Beauty standards shift from decade to decade, and lately, body hair has become far more accepted. Orim, a popular TikToker, proudly shows her natural hair and encourages other women to embrace their real selves, too. In one of her videos, she talks about a surprising side effect of not shaving: men stare at her far less.

Orim is not afraid of flaunting her natural body hair.

The TikToker, known for her body-positive posts — including content about plant-based diets — confidently displays her body hair in her videos. She has openly said she “loves being a hairy woman” and urges her audience to embrace their own natural hair. “You’ve been conditioned to believe that women should be hairless,” she says in one clip.

“I get comments daily about how my armpit hair is unhygienic,” she shared in another video. “Just like any other part of our body, it’s only unhygienic if you don’t clean.” In one viral post where she talks about navigating public spaces as a hairy woman, Orim explains that her body hair “serves as a pervert creeper repellent.”

As soon as she stopped shaving, fewer men stared at her.

In the video, she remembers a moment at the supermarket while wearing shorts: “We walk into an aisle, and at the other end, there’s an older man. Immediately, he’s staring.”
As he approached, he kept staring — until he noticed her leg hair. The moment he saw it, he instantly looked away. “He was done — and the satisfaction that I got from that... immaculate!”

Orim pointed out that this type of attention is unwanted and that women deserve respect, not objectification. “We want to be seen as human — and it’s sad that sometimes it takes body hair to make you see me that way,” she said. Her message struck a chord online, with the video amassing over 11 million views and 2 million likes. One viewer even commented, “I lifted my arm to show my hair multiple times when men stared at me.”

Her large audience embraced her message wholeheartedly, with many saying they were ditching the razor as well.

“It’s taken years to not care how hairy I am,” one person wrote. Another added, “There is so much wisdom and courage in what you say and do! Thank you that you give others the courage to be yourself!” Her content inspired countless others to support her message and celebrate their natural bodies.
