wedding day should be one of the most beautiful moments in a relationship, even if the marriage doesn’t last forever. However, sometimes there are signs that show the marriage is in trouble. These signs can make it clear to everyone that things might not work out. It’s important to cherish the happy moments while also being aware of the challenges that may come.

  • At the reception, the bride’s “work friend” was slow dancing with her and blatantly feeling her up in front of the groom, family, and friends. She left the groom the day they returned from their honeymoon—and kept all the wedding presents! © Mischeese / Reddit
  • When I arrived at the venue, there was a sign that said, “Welcome to [Bride]’s Wedding” with “featuring [Groom]” in smaller text underneath. They did a ring-warming ceremony where the rings were passed around for everyone to make a silent wish for the couple. I closed my eyes and thought, “May your divorce be relatively painless.” © canyamaybenot / Reddit
  • I was a plus 1 at a wedding last year. By the evening bride asked me to help her pee in her dress. I didn’t know her but being a gals gal I assisted. I made small talk whilst she peed and asked if she was having fun etc. She went into a weird trance and said: When I walked down the aisle, I was really disappointed that the groomsman I slept with a month ago didn’t turned up. I don’t think she realised she said it out loud. Anyway...the marriage lasted 9 months. © Hot_potatoos / Reddit
  • When the officiant asked if anyone had any objections and the best man cleared his throat. It was all laughs until the bride joined in and said, ‘Yeah, me too.’ Awkward silence followed. Safe to say, they didn’t last long. © Tall_Confidence6929 / Reddit
  • The groom and his groomsmen broke into a full “Time Warp” dance from Rocky Horror Picture Show in the middle of the wedding, while the bride sat there stone-faced, clearly unimpressed.

  • My male cousin had a beautiful wedding with about 300 guests. During the reception, the bride’s father showed up in a chicken suit, parading around and making a spectacle. Everyone on our side of the family felt like he was mocking the event, even though the bride was laughing it off like, “Isn’t my dad so much fun?”
A couple of months later, she posts something about how “No one will ever live up to my father, I can’t stay in this marriage.” My cousin’s a good guy, too. © dart1126 / Reddit
  • My friend’s wedding was going great until the cake arrived. When the bride saw it, her face went pale. The statue of the woman on top wasn’t her — it was the groom’s ex! While she had long black hair and blue eyes, the statue had a short red fringe and brown eyes.
It turned out the groom had reused the same cake topper from his previous marriage. The bride burst into tears and ran away, and unsurprisingly, their marriage didn’t last long.
  • When the groom, and father of the bride got into a fist fight at the rehearsal dinner. Groom drops the father with a clean right hand. Brother of the bride steps in to defend dad. Grooms father gets involved. Half the wedding party had black eyes and fat lips for the ceremony. The couple was divorced less then 6 months later. © Punkrockid19 / Reddit
  • At our reception, the groom pulled out his phone and started watching UFC instead of dancing with me.
Spoiler: I was the bride. We didn’t last, lol. © Luna_Soma / Reddit
  • When the bride to be was bragging to everyone how 3 of her male ’friends’ declined the wedding invite because they couldn’t watch her marrying someone else. Marriage lasted less than a year and apparently she was having virtual affairs with all 3 of them. © Elegant-Q / Reddit

Weddings can be full of surprises that catch everyone off guard. Whether it’s someone sharing a heartfelt apology or trying to tell a joke that doesn’t land or even shocked, many stories exist of guests interrupting these special moments.
