You’ve probably heard it somewhere or thought about it yourself, that people back in the day used to look a lot older than they do now. And there is scientific evidence that biological aging has changed in recent years. Some of the factors that are responsible for this change are improved healthcare, better living conditions and better diets. But, maybe the way people used to dress and do their hair back in the day played a role in making them look older or younger.

1. “Went into the 7th grade ready for retirement.”

2. “When you look over 40 but you’re actually 12!”

3. “6th grade going on 60!”

4. “My wife was a 40-year-old receptionist in 4th grade.”

5. “Titanic, western and newscaster glamour shots: 1998 in a nutshell.”

6. “It was tough being a 40-year-old church lady in the 6th grade.”

  • Bonus cringe: I would go around telling other kids that Shadow the Hedgehog was my boyfriend. mrs-monroe / Reddit

7. “I peaked at 14 when I was 45 years old.”

8. “A friend of mine gave me permission to post this masterpiece. Circa early ’90s.”

9. “I was a 40-year-old woman at 13.”

10. “Give me the reckless grandma look.”

11. “Guess my age.”

12. “I’ll turn 36 soon.”

13. “8 going on 80.”

14. “I got younger.”

15. “Came downstairs to my kids laughing. They found my 9th grade photo.”

16. “Just an ordinary school image in 1989.”

17. “It could be Linda, some 36-year-old office manager. In reality, it’s me at age 10.”

Do you like looking back at old pictures? Do you think that the fashion of the time you were growing up was nice or do you hate it?
