Recent research has indicated that people who choose not to have children experience higher levels of happiness than those who are parents. In today’s society, an increasing number of couples are intentionally deciding not to have kids. Some prioritize their professional pursuits over family life, while others may lack nurturing instincts. Regardless of their motivations, these adults are demonstrating that procreation does not hold the ultimate purpose for human existence.

At the age of 36, the actor was on the verge of entering fatherhood; however, he experienced the tragic loss of a stillborn child when his then-girlfriend was 8 months pregnant. Regrettably, Reeves did not have the opportunity to become a father, and it appears that he has no intention of altering this circumstance. Five years ago, he candidly acknowledged, “It’s too late. It’s over. I’m 52. I’m not going to have any kids.”

2. Helen Mirren

Back in 2007, the then 61-year-old actress was very frank about the way she felt about becoming a mother. She revealed, ’’I’m just not interested. I’ve no maternal instinct whatsoever. And I don’t think I’m so unusual.’’ She continued, saying, “I’m so happy I don’t have children. But I do love children, and I’ve got family.”

3. Jared Leto

In recent years, the actor and singer openly expressed that he lacks readiness for the role of fatherhood. Recognizing the significant responsibility it has, he acknowledged his inability to wholeheartedly dedicate himself to this commitment. He candidly stated, “I think it’s really important to be present if you have children. I have a lot of...things to take care of.”

Miley Cyrus revealed that she doesn’t want to bring a child into this world because of the environmental issues our planet is facing. “Why are we trained that love means putting yourself second and those you love first? If you love yourself, then what? You come first.”

The actress was completely honest about her decision to avoid motherhood back in a 2018 interview. She admitted, “I don’t want to be torn.” She revealed that she was afraid of looking at her child and feeling regret. She continued to confess that her decision might sound ’’selfish’’ to some. But she thinks that ’’the word selfish gets a bad rap.’’

The well-known talk show host has been in a committed relationship with her partner for 36 years. However, she asserts that she holds no remorse regarding her choice to remain childless. She honestly admitted, ’’I wouldn’t have been a good mom for babies. I don’t have the patience. I have the patience for puppies, but that’s a quick stage!’’

8. Kim Cattrall

When Kim Cattrall was 5 years old, she fantasized about having a hundred dogs and a hundred kids. But she wasn’t having luck in finding a partner and realized that if she wanted to be a mom, she should do it on her own. But with all the DNA choices she was provided, she simply couldn’t see becoming a parent that way. She wanted a product of a union with someone she loves, and the only pressure she felt about becoming a mother was from outside sources.

At age 44, Cattrall considered having babies with her third husband, Mark Levinson. She wanted to start IVF treatment, but at the time, she was filming Sex and the City and realized that a child wouldn’t fit into her schedule.

9. Dolly Parton

Even though she never had her own, the country singer always had a strong connection with children and is used to having them around. She explained, ’’I grew up in a big old family with 8 younger kids.’’ She went on saying, ’’I often think, it just wasn’t meant for me to have kids, so everybody’s kids can be mine.’’

When asked whether he has future plans to have kids, the Hollywood star, who is also an environmental activist, reacted by saying, “Do you mean do I want to bring children into a world like this?” However, it seems that his decision is not set in stone. He then added, "If it happens, it happens.’’

11. Jon Hamm

The Mad Man actor has plenty of friends with kids, and he can’t believe it when he sees that even after so many responsibilities, they still manage to stay upright and be at work at 6 AM. “I would be a terrible dad,” Hamm revealed. “I never thought I’d be this age and not have kids. But the chance that I and my wife will regret it doesn’t seem like a compelling enough reason to do it.”

There are celebrities that not only have welcomed children into this world but have done it more than 5 times already. And some of them share a tremendous resemblance to their kids.
