The world adores Taylor Swift for many reasons, one of which is her remarkable attitude towards her family and friends. Even though she isn’t a mother herself, Taylor’s love and support for her loved ones shine through. Her genuine care and strong relationships with those closest to her are a testament to her kind-hearted nature, endearing her to fans around the globe.

She has a special attitude not only to her close people, but to her fans too, and they pay her back.

Taylor Swift is known for sharing a very close and warm connection with her fans. She handpicks fans for so-called “secret sessions” before each of her albums gets released. They’re often held in her own house. She also hosts many post-show meet and greets, and over the past 16 years, the singer has built a strong image of her mutual friendship with her admirers. Taylor even remembers facts about each of her fans who attend her secret sessions and often surprises them by complimenting their new haircuts, studying achievements, and relationship details.

The singer also sends her fans surprise gifts by mail; they may be handwritten letters of support or even gift boxes that she fills in with the objects that, as she says, “remind her” of the fan in question.

Her fans, in return, pay back to their icon by being extra-loyal to Taylor. During one of her tours at Lumen Field, her fans were dancing so enthusiastically that they caused seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake, as said by a seismologist. Some of her fans wear adult diapers to her shows to avoid missing anything. In this way, Taylor’s fans do everything to show their love to their admired singer.

Taylor Swift is a proud godmother.

Taylor was first honored with the role of godmother in July 2015, when her close friend Jaime King welcomed her second child, Leo Thames, and chose Swift for this special role. Since then, Swift has joyfully shared moments from her relationship with Leo, even dedicating her song Never Grow Up to Jaime King’s son.

“It wasn’t because it was this person and the name. It was really because of her morals and her values, the way that she treats people and how hard-working she is ... her family and how close she is to them,” King shared once. “I see what she gives out there to her fans and to her family. That’s the kind of person I want to be the guide and the spiritual protector of my child.”

She announced her role as godmother to Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ children in a playful and humorous manner.

Even though Taylor Swift had shared lots of sweet moments with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' kids before, she only officially announced she was their godmother in July 2024. While promoting Reynolds' new movie Deadpool & Wolverine, she joked around by giving a shoutout to Reynolds' on-screen rival, Hugh Jackman.

She wrapped up the stories with a funny twist, saying, “Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids' donor," making a playful nod to Reynolds' character.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ eldest three kids have been featured in a few of Taylor Swift’s songs. Their daughter James made a brief vocal appearance in the track Gorgeous from Swift’s Reputation album.

A few years later, Swift named their daughters — James, Inez, and Betty — in her song Betty from the Folklore album. On country radio, she explained the song’s inspiration and confirmed that these names were a nod to Lively and Reynolds’ children.

During her Eras Tour stop in Philadelphia in May 2023, Taylor Swift gave a special shoutout to Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ daughters before taking the stage to perform Betty.

“There are a few of the characters [in ‘Betty’] that I actually, fun fact, named after real people in my life who I love more than anything,” Swift said, before adding, “And their names are James, Inez and Betty.”

Reynold’s and Lively’s kids actually hadn’t realized that their godmother is a star. “I think what’s most exciting for them is that for the longest time they just thought Taylor’s just like an aunt, like a friend of Mommy and Daddy that’s very, very close, almost family,” Ryan shared. “And then they went to a concert one day and were like, ’Ohhhhh, this isn’t a hobby.’”

Hollywood stars often show us that friendship can be as meaningful as family. Many celebrities form deep, lasting bonds with one another, sometimes becoming godparents to their famous friends' children. These high-profile relationships highlight how genuine connections and support go beyond the glitz and glamour, proving that true friendship can create a family-like network of care and affection.
