We tend to look at celebrities as these perfect, almost non-human creatures that have nothing in common with us. But the truth is that they are exactly like us when it comes to their actual lives. For example, like we meet and become friends with people from work, the same happens for them. Also, it’s incredible how many of them know each other before they become starts simply because they were roommates.

1. Mark Ruffalo and Taika Waititi

This duo never shies away from showing their hilarious and dorky side on social media. They share a true bromance and often express it, just like the time the New Zealand actor and director wrote Ruffalo this sweet message: ’’Love you, bubba. X.’’

2. Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito

They are undoubtedly Hollywood icons these days, but their friendship began way before they both had established their careers. In fact, the pair met 55 years ago, in 1967, at the beach when they were both 23 years old — Douglas described his encounter with DeVito as “the beginning of a long, long friendship.”

3. Poppy Delevingne and Sienna Miller

Sienna Miller and Poppy Delevingne shared a flat in New York years ago and still remain very close friends. Miller always appreciated that Delevingne didn’t take herself too seriously. And Delevingne considers Miller “a sister from another mister.” These women share a long-lasting, sincere friendship and always make time to catch up with each other.

4. Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts

The Hollywood actresses met at one of Sydney’s top all-girls high schools and have been close friends ever since. They both appeared together on screen in a 1991 movie and expressed their desire for reuniting on a new project once again. Watts revealed that she and Kidman ’’have been talking about it for too long, we’ve gotta make it happen." She added, ’’We’re definitely continuing to search for the right piece of material."

5. Ilana Glazer and Rachel Bloom

Bloom and Glazer roomed together after college in New York. For more than a year, they shared experiences of the beginnings of their careers on the sofa of their apartment in Brooklyn. As Rachel Bloom reminded us in a kissy post on Instagram, both besties managed to fulfill their dreams and now both have their own TV shows.

6. Pete Davidson and Machine Gun Kelly

The pair met in 2017 on the set of the comedy show series, Wild ’n Out, and Pete Davidson admitted that he and Machine Gun Kelly became the "bestest of the friends’’ when they were once again united on the set of the movie, The Dirt, in 2019.

7. Lauren Graham and Connie Britton

Both were in the same acting class in New York City and became fast friends. They both decided to give the big move to Los Angeles a shot. In their apartment, they shared a time in their lives when everything seemed possible — they were just trying to chase their dreams.

Graham admitted that they had no furniture and all they ate were Rice Krispies Treats. This was just a small detail of their past compared to their great party memories together.

Both actors were co-stars on Breaking Bad, and their relationship remained just as strong, even after the end of the series. Aaron Paul admitted about Bryan Cranston: ’’He became one of my closest friends — my mentor — very early on. Someone I can confide in. And when [Breaking Bad] was done, it was a very hard goodbye."

9. Judd Apatow and Adam Sandler

Both these talented men shared a $900-a-month apartment in the valley when they struggled as comedians, long before they took over Hollywood making us laugh. Eventually, Apatow became a director and producer; and Sandler, an actor.

The memories they share from this time in their youth when they toured clubs doing their comedy shows have served as inspiration for the film, Funny People, which they both worked on. Those were the times when they considered eating at Red Lobster once every month a big night out, and Sandler would make prank phone calls to friends while Apatow filmed it all.

10. Jamie Dornan and Andrew Garfield

Before becoming famous, the actors were roommates. Jamie Dornan noted on the red carpet at the Oscars, ’’We’ve known each other 17 years and there were times where we weren’t really working that much, and it wasn’t happening for us, so to be able to share these last few months with him has been a beautiful thing."

They were roommates in Hawai while filming the movie, Aloha which resulted in them developing a special bond. As Cooper explained, they got to know each other very well. Meanwhile, for Stone, there were only 2 options: “You’re forced to get to know them or hate them.” But judging by the photographs from behind the scenes of the film, it’s safe to say they understood each other.

Both actors appeared in several movies together, including Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and it seems that the pair has developed a strong bond over time. The Rock once admitted that Kevin Hart ’’is definitely one of my best friends." He added, ’’It’s a real friendship, it was one that I didn’t anticipate.’’
