Nicole Kidman Explained Why She Dresses Inappropriately for Her Age After Being Ridiculed for Her Micro Mini Skirt
Nicole Kidman proves that a woman in her late fifties can still wear whatever she wants. The 56-year-old singer stood up for her Vanity Fair magazine cover when it was criticized because of her outfit. Kidman had some impressive words that will not leave anyone indifferent.
Nicole Kidman is ignoring her age. She shows other women that how old you are doesn’t matter. It’s how you feel about yourself that matters. She still goes on dates with her husband Keith Urban, kisses in public, and allows herself eccentric outings.
That time has no power over her, as the actress showed at the last Met Gala. Nicole wore the same dress she wore 19 years ago. And guess what? At both 37 and 56, she looks equally stunning.
That’s why the reaction to the Vanity Fair cover was unexpected. The star is firmly standing by her decision to wear a Miu Miu micro mini skirt as she graced the front page of Vanity Fair’s 2022 Hollywood Issue.
Kidman explained that she’s the one who insisted on wearing that particular skirt, saying, ’’It was fun. I own it. I take responsibility. Nobody else chose it.’’
The low-rise skirt was harshly criticized online, after people deemed it was too short. However, the actress explains that she doesn’t pay much attention to these critics and prefers to ignore them. She noted, ’’Don’t tell me, I don’t really want to know. It will stop me doing what I want to do.’’
The Moulin Rouge star went on explaining that she chooses ’’to stay free’’ in the choices she makes, explaining that if you give too much importance to what others have to say, you become ’’just closed off, and you can’t step anywhere.’’
And at 56, Kidman acknowledges that some of her fashion might not be conventional for her age. She explained, ’’I make the most random, crazy choices. I call them ‘teenage choices’ because I just don’t ever think of consequences.’’
That’s why she attracts so many haters. Her freedom can be annoying to those who can’t afford it. Moreover, sometimes Nicole gets even from her own colleagues. Recently, Amy Schumer mocked Kidman on social networks. However, the public reacted negatively to the joke, and the author deleted the post.
“There’s a consensus in the industry that as a female actor, at about 40, you’re done. I never sat in a chair and heard someone say, ’You’re past your due date,’ but I’ve had times where you’re turned down and the door is shut on you,” she said.
Looking at how adorable Nicole Kidman looks, it doesn’t occur to us to criticize her. On the contrary, she is one of those women who prove that to become a mother, to succeed in work or to wear a mini skirt age does not matter.
