It’s already known that bad news spreads faster than good news and that includes good vs bad publicity. When a celebrity acts like a diva or a spoiled kid, everyone knows it within hours. However, when someone makes very logical demands and acts in an admirable way, people don’t find out as fast. That’s why we chose to let you know about some facts that will give you another reason to admire these celebrities.

1. Daniel Craig

Despite being constantly pressured from the directors of James Bond, the actor categorically refused to turn his blond hair brown, stating that it was “out of the question.” He added, “I suggested instead that I could cut my hair really short to create a more brutal appearance.” This makes Craig the first and only blond Bond to this date.

And years later, as his hair started to gray, the actor, again, had put his foot down and insisted that 007 would grow old gracefully without dying his gray hair.

2. Mila Kunis

The 38-year-old actress emigrated with her family to the United States as a child. She revealed that they’d often have ’’ketchup soup for dinner.’’ Kunis is married to actor Ashton Kutcher who also comes from a non-privileged background. She explained that they make sure to not splurge just because they now have the means to, adding, ’’we both are very much self-made and are very aware of what a dollar is worth.’’

After making it big in Hollywood, the actress uses her power to support causes and people in need. For example, she became the Global Brand Ambassador for a company involving ethical mining in Africa.

3. Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley has been called one of the most beautiful women in the world many times. But at the same time, people are bothered by her body shape — some call her sickly slim, while others call her body “boyish.” As for Knightley herself, she is so satisfied with her body that she forbids the retouching of her photos for magazines.

4. Kate Winslet

She recalls how, even after the triumph of Titanic, she couldn’t avoid media scrutiny for her curves. But none of that stopped her from becoming a leading spokesperson for body acceptance, and even wrinkles. In fact, she has been keen to encourage natural aging, and along with actresses Emma Thompson and Rachel Weisz formed the British League for Anti-Cosmetic Surgery, as well as instructing magazines and brands not to digitally erase her wrinkles in photographs. She is proud of her entire body.

5. Jennifer Lopez

She is one of the biggest stars of our time, but J. Lo had to struggle before reaching her star status. Instead of going to college, she left home to pursue dance full-time, and has revealed having been ’’homeless’’ and sleeping ’’on the sofa inside her dance studio’’ in the beginning.

Now that she’s successful, the 53-year-old hasn’t forgotten her complicated past and makes sure to support people in need. She even created her non-profit organization called Lopez Family Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women and children.

6. Jennifer Aniston

Looking at the successful Jennifer Aniston, it’s hard to believe that she had some difficulties in her work. However, in 2015, the actress confessed that she has been struggling with dyslexia (the impaired ability to quickly and correctly recognize written language) since childhood. But the actress is not looking for easy ways out.

In addition to the fact that Aniston learned to live with this disorder, she has also chosen a profession that implies reading a lot of literature and learning big parts of different texts.

7. Leighton Meester

When the actress was born in 1986, both her parents were serving time in prison. They then split up and both sides of the family struggled financially. In fact, Leighton couldn’t even think about going to her prom because of her financial situation.

She once noted, “I couldn’t relate to kid stuff. [...] I was worried we didn’t have gas money or food. Those were my concerns.” Having known hunger, Leighton is determined to fight it and supports the Feeding America organization.

8. Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie is willing to do anything for her profession. In most cases, the actress refuses the services of stunts, preferring to do many tricks, including difficult ones, herself. In the Salt action movie, Jolie was making dangerous jumps from a bridge onto a moving truck herself. In order to be able to stand the hard physical pressure, Angelina was undergoing extensive training several times a week.

The actor’s family struggled with money at times, and he had to rely on food stamps at the start of his career. Talking about his childhood, Pratt explained, ’’We had some economic hard times, and I’m not ashamed to say that there were moments when my family would need to eat from a food bank." He added, ’’There’s nothing wrong with needing that help."

Now the actor is determined to pay it forward and combat hunger. In 2021, he donated $10K grant to a Food Bank.

One of the most extraordinary modern celebrities and the muse of the Coen brothers, Frances McDormand, prefers natural beauty. The actress doesn’t hide her gray hair and she doesn’t apply makeup at all, even for the Oscars. That’s the bravery many fans love her for.

Is it important that someone is a good person in real life apart from being great at the job in order to like them and support them?
