Hilary Swank Revealed the Names of Her Children, Which Shocked People. “You Wait 48 Years to Have Kids and You Name Them That?!”

About a year ago, 49-year-old Hilary Swank became a mother for the first time. Only recently did she reveal the names of her two children. This Instagram post sparked a buzz on the internet, with comments flooding in for the actress. People were surprised and even outraged by the name she chose for her son.

The 49-year-old actress posted a picture on Instagram. It showed her twins on the beach. She also talked about her movie Ordinary Angels.

The twins, who are 10 months old, wore cute hats and outfits while sitting on the beach. Their names, Aya and Ohm, were written in the sand.

Swank accompanied the adorable photo with the caption, ’’I have a busy week of talk shows ahead where I’ll be sharing about my new film and a fun partnership, but I figured what better day to share the names of my two little loves with you all first.’’

She also thanked her followers and then ended her post by wondering, ’’P.S. Who else has babies that think sand is edible?’’

While the names Aya and Ohm are indeed special and unique, some people online expressed surprise about the name Ohm.

One person asked, ’’Ohm as a measure of resistance in electricity or a short form for a longer name?’’ Another commenter questioned, “How are we pronouncing Ohm?” A third individual remarked, “That’s so not fair to the babies. Ohm??? Oh, no!!” “You wait 48 years to have kids, and you name them that?!” wrote one person. “I had a cousin named Ohm. ❤Love it!!” parried another.

In the talk show, Hilary shared that they decided to name their daughter Aya after a girl they met during one of their trips. As for the name Ohm, Swank said, “Ohm is considered the first universal sound and unites all people, and that sounds very fitting.”

Describing how she’s finding life as a mum of twins, Hilary said: “I think that being a mother of twins, I never have had a singleton, so I don’t know what that’s like. But I know that the sleepless nights are hard and when you have one that might sleep through the night, the other one’s not, so it’s kind of this trade-off every night.

But I know this is also a season, and it too will pass, and I try and remind myself that there’s going to be a day when I’m like, ’’Oh, I’d love to wake up right now and just hold you.’’ So just trying and hold on to that.”

The two-time Oscar-winning actress and her husband, Philip Schneider, welcomed the twins in early April 2023 after announcing in early October 2022 that she was expecting at 48 years old.

She had admitted, “This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time, and my next thing is I’m gonna be a mom,” and then continued, “And not just of one, but of two. I can’t believe it. It’s so nice to be able to talk about it and share it.”
