Small children often say silly things that entertain not only their parents and older siblings but also everyone who hears the stories about them. Probably, each parent could do a full stand-up performance with their kids’ funny phrases. However, there are also times when they say something weird or outright creepy.

We at Now I’ve Seen Everything found some comments from parents that could be great scary stories to tell on a camping trip.

  • A month ago, I told my 5-year-old son that we were going to the movies. He said, “That’s cool, Mom, I want to see that movie about the sinking ship.” I immediately asked him, “Titanic?” and he replied, “That’s the one, Mom, the one we saw once at the movies.” And yes, I went to the movies to see Titanic when I was 10 years old with my mom, but I never told him that and my son has never seen that movie. © Agda Fernanda Teodoro / Facebook
  • My niece drew a picture “of a man in her room” that she kept telling her parents about. He had two different colored eyes, and one was gray. When asked why it was gray, she responded, “because he can see the storm coming.” © herobotic / Reddit
  • My grandfather always whistled a song when he came home from work. My daughter didn’t know him, but when she turned one, she started humming the same song he would whistle without even hearing it before! © Aline Sampaio / Facebook
  • My son had an imaginary friend. When he was 5 years old, he told me that his “friend” said he would live in Vitória. 4 years later, my husband went to work in Vitória and we moved there. © Lucília Balduino / Facebook
  • My son was 4 years old when we went to spend the night at his godmother’s house. When we went to bed, he saw a blanket and told me that his dad had one like that when he was a kid, it was just a little different. I took the blanket and went into the room where my husband was and asked him, “Honey, do you remember a blanket like this?” And he replied, “Yes, I had one like that when I was a kid, but mine was green!” © Tamiris Borges / Facebook
  • When my son was small, I was talking to him about growing potatoes. I described how you bank up the earth around them as they grow, and he said “I used to do that when I was an old man”. © cheeselet / Reddit
  • My second daughter is almost 9 years younger than her sister, but from the time she started talking she told me that I was chosen as the mother, and that “in the birth line,” she would be born first. And that, because her sister ran much faster, she was born first. © Christiane Silva / Facebook
  • My daughter is 2 years and 10 months old and she always says that we have to go visit her grandfather Rafael. She doesn’t have a grandfather by that name, but she always talks about him as if he is someone she knows really exists, and that we have to go see him. © Milena Cristine Zavarise / Facebook
  • My son said he had a brother and a sister. I said, “No son, you only have one sister.” And he replied, “Mommy, I have a brother who lives far away and he is grown up. He is 6 years old.” © Jaqueline Silva / Facebook
  • My son was about to turn 5 when his cousin was getting married. We were choosing the music for the entrance to the church. Suddenly, an orchestrated song came on and my little boy blurted out, “It’s Elvis! Come in with that one!” Detail: I had never heard Elvis with him. So we asked him, “Do you know Elvis?” and he replied, “Of course I do!” © Patricia Andrade / Facebook
  • Recently actually. My son always says odd things. Usually, they’re funny but this one threw me for a loop. He is 8. I was telling him how much I love him and thanks for being in my life. He said, “I didn’t choose this life. I couldn’t control how it began. But I can control how it ends”. © ravenlily / Reddit
  • When I was pregnant with my third child, my 3-year-old daughter said, “Mommy, the baby is going to be born today.” I replied, “No, not today.” That night the baby was born. It’s hard to believe that when she told me that, I still didn’t feel the slightest pain or any symptoms. © Jéh Santos / Facebook
  • Once, I was feeding my daughter with a spoon, playing the “little airplane” game. She was about 3 years old at the time. Then, she turned to me and told me that she also played the “little plane” game with her daughter. I was amazed and asked when it happened and she said, “It was a long time ago mom, you weren’t even born yet.” © Rafaela Camila da Silva / Facebook
  • When my son was 4 years old, he put his hand on my belly and said, “Mommy, there’s a baby in there.” I was scared, and I told him: “Of course not, where did you get that idea?” However, just in case, I took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. © Kenia Oliveira / Facebook
  • My 6-year-old son said he wanted to go back in my belly because he liked it there, but he didn’t remember what it was like inside anymore. © Ausonia Faustino / Facebook
  • I was pregnant and I asked my first daughter, who was then 3 years old: “What’s in mommy’s belly: a little brother or a little sister?” And she answered, in the most natural way: “It’s my sister Patricia.” And that’s what we named her. © Mara Lucimar Fernandes da Silva / Facebook
  • “When you turn off the lights, that’s when the black circles come. They come down like this (holds his hands in the air above his bed), and they stay for a second, then zoop! they go inside! (slapping the hands to his chest).”
Then, barely holding back tears, “I hate it.” © handshape / Reddit
